On 18 May, the Transatlantic Business Initiative (TBI) and Atlantik-Brücke jointly hosted an event at the House of German Business on “Resilient Supply Chains for Critical Minerals and Beyond: Unlocking the Potential of German-Canadian Industrial Cooperation.”
Two panels highlighted both the urgency and the opportunity:
Allied Supply Chains: Canada and Germany in the Race for Critical Minerals
Critical minerals are at the heart of the energy transition, e-mobility, and digitalization. Strengthening cooperation between Canada’s resource potential and Germany’s industrial demand is key to reducing dependencies and enhancing resilience.
Facing Change Together: Unlocking the Potential of German-Canadian Industrial Cooperation
From industrial transformation to global competition, both countries share common challenges—and untapped opportunities to deepen collaboration.
Building on the Joint Declaration of Intent on Critical Minerals Cooperation (2025), discussions focused on how to move from strategy to implementation—through investment, partnerships, and joint value chains.
