On 10 August, the TBI hosted a Congressional Delegation for a background discussion on “The Impact of China’s Economic Policies on German Industry”.
Led by Rep. Newhouse and Rep. Khanna, participants agreed that that Chinese economic policy is not an abstract issue, but directly affects our industries, supply chains, and broader security. For Germany and Europe, the challenge is to strengthen our own competitiveness, as well as reducing strategic vulnerabilities and defending fair competition without compromising our open market.
For the transatlantic partnership, the task is to coordinate more closely and to avoid unnecessary friction and harmful fragmentation.
