Focal Points and Tasks
The Business and Finance Steering Group represents the interests of the real and financial economy and aims to support transatlantic cooperation in economic and financial matters. Beyond corporate finance issues and the financial aspects of the Covid reconstruction, the Steering Committee also addresses other relevant topics such as taxation, sanctions, combating money laundering and terrorist financing, financial market regulation and supervision as well as sustainable finance, digitalisation of financial services and the related challenges of cyber and data security.
Based on the experience of the daily business of the sectors represented in the Steering Group, the Steering Group will formulate positions and policy demands to support decision-makers in transatlantic cooperation. In doing so, the Steering Group will contribute to stronger transatlantic cooperation in the economic and financial sector and ensure that the views and interests of German and European companies and financial institutions are taken into account in the political discourse.
